Optical coherence tomography (OCT) is a non-invasive imaging technique that produces high-resolution cross-sectional images of tissue. It's often used to examine the retina and diagnose and monitor eye conditions like glaucoma, macular disorders, and diabetic retinopathy.

Key features of OCT:

• Real-time imaging: OCT's fast scanning rates and quick signal processing allow for real-time image visualization. 

• Uses light: OCT uses a beam of infrared light to scan the eye and generate an image. 

• Similar to a CT scan: OCT is similar to a CT scan of internal organs, but it doesn't use X-rays.
